AIFB, AIPLM, AIHHM, AIIT, AIREM, AIDM, AIEM, AIEHSM, AIIM, AICM, AIDSAI and AIPC are examination, testing, and professional certification bodies.
Certifying Examination:
- To be certified in any professional certification, students should take up a 1.5 hours exam at the designated examination centres.
- The student may also have an option of taking online exam. They would receive the username and the password and has to attempt the exam on the scheduled date. Â The qualifying exam would consist of 50 multiple choice questions, testing core certification modules.
- Professionals with relevant experience and other qualifying criteria may be exempted from the examination. (Please refer examination exemption policy)
- At the discretion of AIBM examination panel, some technical professional certifications may have practical/project based assessment.
- For C-Level certification, candidate may be required to make 30 minutes presentation incorporating certification modules, followed by questions by panelists.
All certifying exams are conducted by the American Institute of Business & Management.
Examination & Certification Fees
- The examination and certification fees of each program of AIBM, AIFB, AIPLM, AIHHM, AIIT, AIREM, AIDM, AIEM, AIEHSM, AIIM, AICM, AIDSAI and AIPC are US $1330. The fee can be also paid directly to the affiliated centres.
- Examination Exemption Fee : Candidates applying for examination exemption are required to pay a fee of USD 100 along with their application.

The purpose of this policy is to:
  – Provide a clear and transparent system for grading and recognition of student achievements.
  – Ensure consistency and fairness in the assessment of qualifying exams.

2. Levels of Achievement
Upon completing the qualifying examination, student performance will be classified into one of the following categories based on their overall percentage score:
    a. Pass
      – Score Range: 60% to 69%
      – Description: Students achieving a score within this range will be awarded a PASS. A PASS indicates that the student has demonstrated satisfactory understanding of the course material and meets the minimum requirements for professional competence in their chosen certification program.Â
      – Examination Exemption: Students applying for examination exemption based on their professional experience will automatically receive a PASS as their professional level of achievement.
      – Implications:
        – A PASS grants the student the necessary certification, allowing them to proceed in their professional journey.
        – The student is encouraged to improve their knowledge and skills in specific areas of weakness identified during the examination.
     b. Merit
      – Score Range: 70% to 79%
      – Description: Students scoring between 70% and 79% will be awarded a MERIT. This classification indicates that the student has shown a good grasp of the subject matter, surpassing the basic requirements for certification and demonstrating a higher level of competency and understanding.
      – Implications:
        – A MERIT reflects strong performance, positioning the student as a capable and competent professional in their field.
       – While students achieving a MERIT are eligible for certification, they may also be recommended for further opportunities to enhance their knowledge and take on advanced professional roles.
     c. Distinction
      – Score Range: 80% and above
      – Description: Students who achieve a score of 80% or higher will be awarded a DISTINCTION. This level of achievement reflects exceptional understanding of the course material, critical thinking, and professional mastery. Students with DISTINCTION are recognized as high achievers and leaders within their professional domain.
      – Implications:
       – A DISTINCTION not only certifies the student as a qualified professional but also places them in an elite group recognized for their excellence.
       – Students awarded a DISTINCTION may be recommended for prestigious professional opportunities, special projects, or advanced leadership roles within the industry.
     d. Fail
      – Score Range: Below 60%
      – Description: Students who score below 60% will be classified as having failed the examination. A FAIL indicates that the student has not met the minimum requirements to demonstrate competence in the subject matter.
      – Implications:
       – Students who fail the examination are not eligible for certification.
       – Remedial actions will be suggested, and students may retake the examination after addressing identified areas of weakness.

  – Students who do not achieve a PASS may retake the qualifying examination after a mandatory waiting period of 30 days.
  – A maximum of three attempts will be allowed for any student to pass the qualifying examination.
  – Appeal Process: Students who believe their examination has been unfairly graded may submit an appeal. An official application must be sent to the AIBM Examination Board, accompanied by a non-refundable fee of USD 100. Appeals will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and the Boardâs decision will be final.
