Certification Program Objectives:
Upon completing the Certified Business Finance Professional/Manager (CBFP)™/(CBFM)™ program, participants will be able to:
- Understand Financial Analysis and Reporting – Interpret financial statements, key ratios, and management reports to assess business performance, profitability, liquidity, and operational efficiency.
- Apply Investment Strategies and Portfolio Management Concepts – Understand investment principles, portfolio approaches, risk-return relationships, and financial decision-making related to capital allocation and business investments.
- Manage Risk in Business Finance – Identify and assess financial risks including market, credit, liquidity, operational, and investment-related risks, and apply sound risk management principles in business finance contexts.
- Apply Ethical Standards in Financial Decision-Making – Understand the importance of integrity, transparency, governance, accountability, and ethical judgment in financial planning and business decision-making.
- Use Corporate Valuation Methods – Apply valuation concepts and methods to assess business worth, investment potential, strategic opportunities, and financial decision alternatives.

Certification Eligibility Criteria:
To apply for certification from The American Institute of Business and Management (AIBM) and its allied institutions, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- A Bachelor’s degree from a recognized institution
And/or
- 0–4.9 years relevant experience for Professional level (CBFP)™, or 5+ years for Manager level (CBFM)™
Note: Applicants who do not hold a Bachelor’s degree but possess exceptional professional experience and hold significant positions within their organizations in a relevant field may also be considered for certification on a case-by-case basis, subject to the approval of the AIBM evaluation committee.
Certifying Examination:
- To be certified as CBFP™/CBFM™, student should take up a 1.5 hours online exam conducted by AIFB.
- The qualifying exam would consist of 50 multiple choice questions, testing core certification modules.
- Professionals with relevant experience and other qualifying criteria may be exempted from the examination.
