Certified Fire Protection Professional (CFPP)

The Certified Fire Protection Professional (CFPP) professional certification program is designed to provide comprehensive knowledge and skills related to industrial fire protection. The program covers the fundamental concepts of fire chemistry and physics, common and special hazards, building construction, and life safety. The participants will learn about mechanical and chemical explosions, alarm and detection systems, fire extinguishment, and fire program management. The CFPP certification program aims to develop competent professionals who can effectively manage and mitigate fire-related risks in industrial settings.

Certification Program Objectives:

  • Understand the chemistry and physics of fire and the hazards associated with it
  • Identify common and special hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them
  • Evaluate building construction and design life safety plans for industrial settings
  • Identify and install appropriate alarm and detection systems for early fire detection
  • Demonstrate knowledge of fire extinguishment techniques and implement them in industrial settings
  • Develop and implement fire program management strategies to prevent and manage fire incidents
  • Identify and manage hazardous processes and materials to prevent fire incidents.

Certifying Examination:

  • To be certified as CFPP, student should take up a 1.5 hours exam at the designated examination centers.
  • The qualifying exam would consist of 50 multiple choice questions, testing core certification modules.
  • Professionals with relevant experience and other qualifying criteria may be exempted from the examination.
