Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP)

The Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) professional certification is designed to provide individuals with the knowledge and skills required to plan, manage, and execute successful special events. The program covers a wide range of topics, including event theory and principles, event planning and administration, event coordination and marketing, as well as legal and ethical considerations in event management. The certification aims to equip individuals with the tools needed to excel in the dynamic and fast-paced field of special events and to help them stand out in the industry.

Certification Program Objectives:

  • Understand the basic concepts, theories, and principles of event management.
  • Develop strategies and plans for event planning and administration.
  • Coordinate events effectively, including managing timelines, logistics, and budgets.
  • Develop and implement effective event marketing plans to attract and engage audiences.
  • Understand the legal and ethical aspects of event management, including contracts, liability, and risk management.
  • Identify and assess potential risks associated with events, and develop strategies to mitigate them.

Certifying Examination:

  • To be certified as CSEP, student should take up a 1.5 hours exam at the designated examination centers.
  • The qualifying exam would consist of 50 multiple choice questions, testing core certification modules.
  • Professionals with relevant experience and other qualifying criteria may be exempted from the examination.
