Certified Treasury Finance and Development Banking Professional (CTFDBP)

The Certified Treasury Finance and Development Banking Professional (CTFDBP) professional certification program aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in the financial industry, specifically in the areas of treasury and development banking. This certification covers a wide range of topics from basic financial institution structure to more complex emerging market bond pricing. The program is designed for individuals who seek to deepen their understanding of financial institutions, risk management, and credit modeling, among others.

Certification Program Objectives:

  1. Understand the basic structure of a traditional financial institution, including lending, borrowing, investing, and Asset and Liability Management (ALM).
  2. Learn about Curve Construction using instruments like discount bonds, interest rate swaps, basis swaps, and multiple instruments for building a curve.
  3. Understand credit modeling, including hazard rates and spread-based modeling of credit, bootstrapping of a hazard rate curve, and fair value of loans.
  4. Learn about emerging markets, liquidity, maturity, credit, and capital control. Also, understand bond pricing and its fundamental concepts, including yield, duration, and expressing credit explicitly when pricing a bond.

Certifying Examination:

  • To be certified as CTFDBP, student should take up a 1.5 hours exam at the designated examination centers.
  • The qualifying exam would consist of 50 multiple choice questions, testing core certification modules.
  • Professionals with relevant experience and other qualifying criteria may be exempted from the examination.
